Review of Arkansas City, Kansas

General
Star Rating - 1/5/2006
Incorporated in the late 1870's Arkansas City (AC)is the largest town in Cowley County, although Winfield is the county seat. AC is a nice rural city on the western edge of the El Dorado (Flint) Hills of Eastern Kansas.
Mainly a farming and ranching community, it has several industrial facilities: Creekstone Meat Processing (cattle and hogs), 2 flour mills, a Mobile home manufacturer (Skyline), among others.
By Indian legend, there has never been a tornado in AC because it lies between two rivers, the Arkansas and the Walnut, which converge ESE of AC.

Just a few little tid-bits you may not have had about out little town.
